A girl discovers that there is no prince coming after her, and thus decides she has to break to the outside world. (there is a LOT of symbolism involved)

Utena is battling with Anthy's captor with a bamboo sword. Anthy's captor knocks away all remnants of the sword, and Anthy Himemiya says "one cannot battle without a sword." She then sort of falls into Utena and kisses her in slow motion, after which a sword appears from Himemiya's breast.

Utena is in her room and gets a knock on her door. This turns out to be Anthy. Utena says that she does not have visitors, but then knocks Anthy onto the bed. the regular light goes off and a blue light comes on. They whisper for awhile and their faces are very close. During this time as well, Anthy explains some of the rules of the university and such. Then Anthy giggles and there is an unzipping sound (you only see their legs). However, Utena turns the regular light on and tells Anthy to cut it out.

The instructor tells the students that they must pick a partner to draw and to "capture the essence of their partner. Utena sees to her dismay that her bubbly sidekick is paired off with some boy. The instructor says that since it is a nice day, they can work outside. Then, Utena sees Anthy, smiling at her with sketchbook in tow. As they walk across many different pathways along the school, Utena keeps telling Anthy to wait for her but she doesn't. They finally get to a deserted part of the school. When Utena asks if they're allowed, Anthy replies "Nobody comes here."
Utena is drawing Anthy and is clearly a bit nervous. She tells Anthy that she'll forsake her dueling status and wants to know Anthy properly, instead of holding back secrets. Before she can go on, Anthy says they should switch.
We see Anthy drawing, and hear Utena say "are you sure about this?" Anthy replies that they can't hold back, and we see that Utena is naked, holding her sketchbook in front of her. After Anthy says this, Utena drops her sketchbook. (Since this is PG, we do not see any secondary or primary sexual characteristics, just skin.)
After a while, Utena says that if she's the only one disrobed, isn't that a bit unfair? Anthy agrees, and begins to disrobe, to Utena's surprise(?). She replies that she's going to show her the secret. We see her silhouette as she disrobes, and when she does there is a hole going through her chest.

The final scene, when they have escaped Ohtori. They are both nude, and share a kiss. (again, since this is PG, no sexual characteristics, except appropriate curves.) You then see them going off into the distance together, and that is the end.

This was a very good movie, and the main characters have very good chemistry, sexual and otherwise. Since this is a mainstream anime movie, the scenes were not particularly explicit but there is a great deal of subtext, as well as tender, non-erotic scenes between Utena and Anthy.
Note: Since this is a cartoon, I have used the characters names instead of the names of the voice actors. This is for a few reasons: first of all, there are two sets of voice actors, the japanese and english. Also, those who are searching for this movie are more likely to use the characters names than the voice actors names, since the characters are more well known and the voice actors are only a portion of creating the scenes.
