Two girlfriends in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina find their relationship changing as they encounter new arrivals to the town. Lauren Ambrose works with her brother, running their family's beach-front burger bar. The brother hires a life-guard's new flame (Joelle Carter), as a waitress. Ambrose makes an immediate bond with Carter, which causes jealousy with the life-guard. Then a drifter who sells t-shirts from the back of his van, starts a romance with Ambrose. This casts her away from both of the other two women and for the first time gives her confidence to function on her own, instead of hiding behind the other more brash or beautiful women.

Ambrose and Carter lay in bed together (simply sharing a bed), when Carter turns and thanks Ambrose for letting her stay there. She then kisses Ambrose twice - first, a brief lip kiss, then a longer kiss which Ambrose seems to return - after which Carter rolls back on her back and goes to sleep. We see a smile gradually develop on Ambrose's face.

A decent kiss, and some subtext throughout, but not an explicitly lesbian storyline. The film is worth watching for the performance by Lauren Ambrose.
