Rebekka, Claudia and Sofie are three 16-year-old girls who are tired of being treated as children. Inspired by having watched a documentary about the maturing rituals of an African tribe, they decide to make their own maturing ritual. They come up with a number of challenges that they write down on a paper, which then are folded into something which I don't even know the Swedish name of. This "thing" is held in both hands, and by re-arranging it, you get random results. Each of the girls will use it to see what their challenge will be.

Actresses:
Cathrine Bjørn & Amalie Rendtorff-Smith

One of the things they believe is essential for a young girl to have done, in order to be considered a grown-up, is to have kissed another girl. Sofie (Cathrine Bjørn) is given this task, but she first refuses. What her friends don't know is that she's struggling with questions about her sexuality, and this will become too personal for her. Her friends manage to persuade her though, and it's decided that she will kiss a slightly older gay girl, Katrine (Amalie Rendtorff-Smith), who's working in the same fast-food restaurant as Sofie is during the weekends.
While Sofie and Katrine is in the restaurant's ball pit, Rebekka and Claudia is watching them on a computer screen in the office. Rebecca and Claudia become surprised when they see how much Sofie and Katrine are into it. There are more things going on than just a simple kiss. Afterwards, Sofie tries to be cool and lets her friends know that she couldn't go through with it. She never kissed Katrine properly as had been intended, They were only lip kissing, and she wants to be given another challenge instead..

Actresses:
Cathrine Bjørn & Amalie Rendtorff-Smith

Her new challenge is to tell a guy that she's loves him, but it turns out that it won't be a guy who hears this. At a party she meets Katrine again, and they go down to the beach to talk. Sofie kisses Katrine on the cheek and tells her that she loves her. Katrine says she's flattered, but that she's too young for her. Sofie isn't too devastated to hear this though. She just seems happy to finally have come to terms with who she is.

This is a very nice movie, and it reminds me to some extent of Fucking Åmål in the way it's filmed and how natural the dialogue is. The scene in the ball pit was excellent, but it's so sad that they never french kissed. I'm so tired of seeing these "Hollywood kisses". Supervoksen was a huge success in Denmark last year, and it went straight to the top of the box office chart.
