In this episode, Octavia, daughter of Julius Caesars Niece, seduces Julius Caesars shunned mistress, Servilia.

Actresses:
Lindsay Duncan & Kerry Condon

The first scene in the episode hinting at a relationship came when Octavia was sent to Servilia to request her help with the guarding of Atias property. The strained relationship between Atia (Julius Caesars niece) and Servilia serve as the catalyst to Octavia becoming upset. There was a lingering, but uncomfortable embrace between the two. At this point, it looks like Octavia is looking for a mother-figure.

Actresses:
Lindsay Duncan & Kerry Condon

Servilia invites Octavia to her house to weave. Octavia seems reluctant to go, with something playing on her mind. Soon after her arrival, a servant announces that Julius Caesars army has been victorious, inferring that her Servilias son has been killed. As Octavia seeks to console Servilia it progresses into something else, and slowly it becomes a tender kiss.

Actresses:
Lindsay Duncan & Kerry Condon

Both women are asleep in Servilias bed, leaving the viewer to wonder where this will lead and how Atia will react...

Great, complex series. Lesbian love an added bonus, but not without historical precedence. No sex scenes or nudity for these two, as yet, but the unexpected development of their relationship was a nice twist.
