Neighbours is a long running Australian soapie which takes place in Ramsey Street. Sky (Stephanie McIntosh), lives here with her grad-dad and Lana (Bridget Neval) has come over from Canada to stay with her aunty and goes to the same school as McIntosh, and falls for her.

Actresses:
Stephanie McIntosh & Bridget Neval

Neval and McIntosh are exiting school, when Neval says bye and starts to walk off, she isnt watching and almost gets run over. McIntosh pulls her back up onto the curb and grabs her hand and says something like "Hey, be careful, ive just made friends with you i dont want to lose you now".

Actresses:
Stephanie McIntosh & Bridget Neval

McIntosh and Neval are working on a cartoon strip together. 'Freak Girl and Enigma' (Freak girl being McIntosh and Enigma being Neval, as originally Neval had confused McIntosh and McIntosh had drawn a really good picture of her.) Anyway, Neval has hurt/cut her finger somewhere along the way and McIntosh says her "freak girl powers" will fix it and quickly kisses Nevals finger.

Actresses:
Stephanie McIntosh & Bridget Neval

McIntosh invites Neval over for a movie night, as they are both very into olden day movies, Marilyn Monroe and such. As they are talking, preparing to watch the movie, McIntosh starts to change innocently in front of Neval.
At the end of the movie McIntosh looks over and sees that Neval is asleep so she crawls over to get the remote from her hand. Neval wakes up and tells her she wasn't sleeping, to which McIntosh replies that she could have fooled her. They end up chasing eachother and tackling eachother for the remote. Neval pins McIntosh on the lounge and says "Got you", when McIntosh replies "Yes you did".
Not being able to contain her feelings for McIntosh anymore, Neval leans down and kisses Mcintosh. McIntosh doesnt look too worried but Neval freaks out and runs out and leaves, leaving a very confused McIntosh.

This show has been running for about 20 years on Australian TV ... it was the first lesbian kiss and storyline in that time span. And it raised alot of fuss, people writing into newspapers and such complaining about it. People acted like it was a full blown sex scene. I, being a bisexual teenage girl was not at all concerned with the story line, it was really trying to tackle discrimination and such and i respect the writers for that. It was a sweet kiss and its a shame that Neval has to go through such a hard time. It only gets worse for McIntosh and Neval as time goes on, as McIntosh breaks Nevals heart on a few occasions.
