This movie is about a band producer (McDormand), living the "rock n roll life" when her grownup son (Christian Bale) is coming to visit her with his girlfriend (Beckinsale). They need a place to stay while she is finishing on her research subject.

Actresses:
Kate Beckinsale & Frances McDormand

Frances McDormand is in the swimming pool with her boyfriend (the band singer), Beckinsale comes down and hands them drinks. She doesnīt want to get in the water, but - of course - without much persuasion she joins them. There is a not really a build up here at all, for no reason they cut directly to Beckinsale kissing the guy. Then she is kissing McDormand for a few seconds. Pretty nice, but cold. Iīm not a big threesome fan either..

Actresses:
Kate Beckinsale & Frances McDormand

Later, at a party, Beckinsale is together with McDormand and her boyfriend in the bedroom. The guy wants her to entertain them, she strips of her shirt and then kiss both of them again. First him, then her. McDormand says "Maybe we should stop.." and they interrupt.

I thought the movie was boring. I like both Frances McDormand and Christian Bale but this just wasnīt my thing. The kissing scenes certainly had no passion but without any buildup or anything suggesting Beckinsale would be attracted to McDormand (except Bale mentioning that his mother had a girlfriend earlier), it didnīt... I canīt recommend this one.
