Love at first sight is the theme for this movie about two people who fall in love. Imagine Me & You offers a script where the twist here is the two people are both girls. Piper Perabo and Lena Headey star in this romantic comedy that opens with Rachel (Piper Perabo) walking down the aisle to get married. Rachel happens to catch a glimpse of Luce (Lena Headey) who is at the wedding to set up the flowers. This movie grabbed me from the very beginning and held me to the very end.

Rachel's wedding day is where the film opens. She is getting ready and is getting advise from her father and mother who only make things more complicated. Rach's sister "H" adds to the hectic scene by asking why the alphabet is in that order and an assortment of other thought provoking questions. Complete chaos is close when finally all arrive at the church. When Rachel and her father are walking down the aisle, Rach catches a glimpse of Luce. Their eyes lock and the story is set. At the reception, Rachel has dropped her wedding ring into the punch bowl but Luce comes to the rescue and gets it saving what could have been a disaster. At the reception, Heck's best man has eyes for Luce, not knowing she is gay.

A day or so later, Rachel goes to the flower shop Luce owns to thank her for the flowers and the help at the wedding and invites her to supper on Friday night. Rach does not realize Luce is gay and invites Cooper thinking the two would make a nice couple. Luce and Heck are talking while Rachel fixes the flowers Luce brought when Heck asks Luce if she is married or ever has been or ever will be. Luce then tells him that no, she is not nor has been married but might marry one day since the laws have changed. Heck asks what she means and Luce then revels that she is Gay. Rachel is still in the kitchen while Heck and Luce are talking so she is still in the dark about Luce.

The following day, Rach and Heck are grocery shopping when they bump into Luce and her friend Edie. At one point Heck asks Edie if she is gay. She reply's with a line that will one day be a classic. She tells Heck that she is not only gay but estatic. She then makes it clear that she and Luce are not a couple but not for the lack of trying. It is here Rachel learns that Luce is gay, or as Heck puts it,"Gay as a tennis player". With this new found knowledge, Rachel has a look about her that tells us she will be seeing more of Luce. Ironicaly, it's Heck that sets the stage for Rach and Luce to get together by having them go to the soccor game he and Rach were to see.

Rachel and Luce go to the soccor game where Rach is yelling and screaming at the players. Luce tells her that she sounds shrill. She then teaches her how to yell and project more from the diaphram. When they are leaving Rachel ask's Luce what she would like to do and the two go dancing. While this scene is on, you can tell the two are getting closer. Later they are walking down a street and Rachel asks Luce what the meaning of flowers are. Luce tells her the azalea means "I wish you wealth". Rach wants to know the meaning of the Lilly. Finally Luce tells her it means I dare you to love me. At the door to Rach's apartment, when they are saying good bye, Rachel lean's in as if to kiss Luce but backs away when a car passes. The two back away and say good night.

This scene opens with Rachel walking toward Luce's flower shop. When Luce looks up and see's it's Rach, she smiles but Rach tells her not to look happy to see her, that she does not want her to be happy seeing her. Rach tells her that she has feelings that she does not understand and tells her that she is married to Heck and that this cannot go on. Rach turns and walks out of the room where they are but then comes back. Rach kisses and hugs Luce in a totally passionate way that could not be faked. The passion in the kissing was real and was one of the best girl on girl kisses I can remember. As they roll around, Luce cry's out that she has rolled on some flowers with thorns which are in her bum. They hear the door to the shop open and hear Heck calling for Luce. When Luce returns to the room, Rach has gone oput the window. Luce runs after her and tells her that she can stop it by telling her to leave. Rach asks Luce if this is what she wants,,,Luce tells her that she wants her. The two part as they both know the marriage is the driving force for Rachel. Luce tells Rachel not to forget her, Rachel tells her that she will remember nothing else.

Heck finally realizes that Rachel loves Luce more than she loves him and knows he must leave. He tells her that she is experiencing the unstoppable force and he must move. Rachel's father tells her that whatever her decision, he and her mother will be there to support her and tells her to follow her heart. The three of them leave and head out to Luce's flower shop where she finds Luce's mother. Luce has left for the airport to go on an extended vacation or holiday if you will. Rach along with her mother and father and Luce's mom leave to catch her. In a traffic jam, Rach uses her new found skills at projecting her voice and finds Luce. They run to each other meeting and falling into a kiss that signals a happy ending.

This was a movie I could watch again and again as I enjoyed it that much. Piper Perabo and Lena Headey were outstanding in the lead roles. Ol Parker did a magnificent job of putting together a totally believeable script with characters who jump off the screen and into your heart. I can only hope there will be a sequel to this movie with the entire original cast.
