Isha plays an obsessed lesbian (Tanya) who is in love with her friend (Sapna), played by Amrita. The problem rises when Amrita begins to date with Rahul, which makes Tanya jealous. Tanya tries to break this relationship, and even tries to kill him, and this effort leads to many situations along the film.

Actresses:
Amrita Arora & Isha Koppikar

The two girls arrive to their room laughing, and a little bit drunk. The begin playing with each other, and they endup making love in their bed. Good erotic content, but clearly censored, so don't expect so much. Not even kisses clearly shown.

Actresses:
Amrita Arora & Isha Koppikar

Another time the girls arrive to the room, etc. (God, only two scenes in the film and they are just the same!) Not as explicit as before, because the girls don't undress and they lay down on the bed, with Isha sensually touching Amrita.

What a disappointment! Not only a bad movie, but poor lesbian scenes. The plot is quite pathetic and the "actors" show it in a too exaggerated way. Only Isha plays it quite OK for my taste. Yes, the actresses are beautiful, and the whole movie is filled with erotic details which can be attractive, but the overall sensation is that you're watching a long perfume advertisement, or sometihing like that. The musical moments (typical in a Bombay film) are nice, but strange for the western taste. No even kisses which you could remember. A lost oportunity for doing some good lesbian film in India, or even a good film in India.

There are two girls, Tanya and Sapna who are the best of friends. They live together, and have been friends since college. One day, one of the girls goes away on a trip, and comes back to find her friend in love. This hurts her more then it should, and then she realizes that she has feelings for her friend. The rest, is history.

Actresses:
Amrita Arora & Isha Koppikar

Sonya's Boyfriend Rahul confronts her about her relationship with Tonya. She admits that one time they got drunk in college and had sex. The scene is in flashback, but nicely done with a nice slow build up. The fact that their drunk makes the scene even better. However, because this is an Indian movie, there isn't too much explitness.

Actresses:
Amrita Arora & Isha Koppikar

Another flashback scene, showing the two of them drunk and engaging in lesbian love making, only to be stopped too quickly by Indian Censory Board :(

The two girls were REALLY HOT. It is rare to see this type of lesbian relationship in a Hindi movie- however it has become much more popular recently. I'd recommend it to people who want to see a non-typical Indian Movie.

Bollywood believes in conservation. So they recycled Kate's addiction into Girlfriend.
Girldfriend is bollywood's take on hollywood's Kate's Addiction. Bollywood only succeeds on expanding the story of Kate's Addiction and it's just a big tease and no satisfaction. If I tell you the story of Girlfriend I'm really telling you the story of Kate's Addiction ...very familiar, but minus the kissing, nutidy and sex.
This is not a lesbian film its joke on lesbianism, its treated as a desease and a disfuntional behavior by all charactors apart from the crazy bitch!. India has a long way,,,long long way to go, I thought 'Fire' was a good step ahead but it seems 'Fire' was ahead of its time. The first film (Fire) to explore lesbianism in a closely tight community and family, where nude love scene made it more real and the charactors were believable because they cared about eachother. Girlfriend does nothing of the sort and it portrays a lesbian encounter as a one night stand gone wrong which is not a way ahead.
Girlfriend is more glossy and good to look at, mind you the girls are very hot and good looking. The film is aimed for the mainstream so it could spawn other similar movies but I doubt they will reach the 'Fire' standard in the next 5-10 years.
What I don't get is that they can press and rub their hot little bodies against each other for over 5 mins, but no single kiss. I would have settled for a 1 minutes passionate kissing rather than the body rubbing ...hmmmm ....body ...rubbing. Stop it Homer!

Very, very negative in their potrayal of lesbians. There is one scene where Isha and Amrita are showning making love. The ladies seem to have a chemistry between them but their actions seem pretty restrained. The story line is thin (a far cry from Fire).Basically the movie seems to underline the fact that being lesbian or gay is abnormal which I thought was in bad taste.
