Deadwood is the greatest drama on television at the moment. In this episode, Bella Union owner, Cy Tolliver orders that an old friend of his who has got smallpox (and is staying at the hotel), be taken out to the wods and left for dead. The madame of the whorehouse, Joanie Stubbs, is angry over this and goes to the funeral of 'Wild Bill' Hickok to annoy him.
