A guy falls in love with a lesbian (Joey Lauren Adams).

Joey Lauren Adams & Carmen Lee

Adams sings at a club. A male admirer who she has recently met stands in the audience. Adams looks seductively towards where he's standing all through the song, and when the song ends, Adams walks off the stage towards him. He smiles happily thinking that she will come over to him, BUT a girl (Lee), who's been standing beside him walks forward to meet Adams. When Lee and Adams meet in the middle of the dance floor, they start kissing heavily.
Shortly afterwards, you can also see them making out when they're sitting on a sofa.

The kiss was nominated as screen-kiss of the year at the MTV Movie Awards.

Rarely films accurately portray the way men react to a women's sexuality! This film succeeds here. Seemingly trite but acctually complex, this film takes you where no film has before. Original storytelling of ancient stereotypes with great characters and an appropriate ending. I recommend it.
