Told in a flashback, this movie is about how two women join forces in order to steal some mob money. Gina Gershon moves into the apartment next to Jennifer Tilly and her mobster husband. Then, through some twists and turns, we see if the two women are capable of beating the mob.

The scene starts as Tilly asks Gershon to come over and have a look at her sink pipe because she dropped her ring in it. As soon as it is retrieved, they go back and sit on the sofa. Here's where it gets good. Tilly asks about one of Gershon's tattoos, and then Tilly says that she has one of her own, which just happens to be one the upper part of her left breast (yea!!). So then Tilly asks Gershon if she wants to touch it, and then grabs her hand and starts rubbing the tattoo area with it. Then she gets Gershon's fingers and sticks them in her mouth, and then slides them down to the southern hemisphere, and into her pants. Then the camera gets close, and all you really see is the bottom half of their faces as they are inches apart. Then they start breathing heavily, and Gershon asks Tilly if she just dropped her ring in the sink to get her over there, and Tilly responds by saying, "If I say yes, will you take your hand away?"
Then, with their lips ever ! so close, Tilly starts breathing heavily the words "kiss me" several times. Finally their lips meet, and they fall down to a laying position on the sofa. Then, the husband walks in, and that is the end of that. In my humble opinion, great scene for a mainstream film, but when the kissing starts, the picture is a bit dark. But still wonderful.

Another great scene, in my opinion. It starts out with Gershon sitting in her truck, and Tilly enters through the passenger side. They talk a little, and then Tilly apologizes to Gershon for the night before. Gershon replies by saying that she shouldn't apologize for what she did, and Tilly says, "I'm not apologizing for what I did. I'm apologizing for what I didn't do," as she goes in for another kiss, first being sure to lick Gershon's lips with her tongue.
They share a quick kiss, and Tilly asks Gershon if she has a bed somewhere as they kiss some more, with the camera then panning straight up into a room with a bed, with both women lying naked together. The camera then pans around their bodies, and we a get great glimpse of simulated fingering (at least in the unrated version you do). Then the camera pans up to their faces, with a slight glimpse of breast from both. They kiss a bit more, Tilly nibbles on one of Gershon's fingers, and the next we see of them is a shot from above with both of them lying under the covers together. The end.

Well, as you may gather from my review, I love this movie. I would honestly have to say that this was the movie that started this for me (being 18 with no Internet access at the time, I hadn't been exposed to this kind of thing yet).
I still remember the day when I read in a monthly cable guide how Gina Gershon falls for....Jennifer Tilly!! I swear that I put the guide down, got in my car, and went straight for the video store. And the fact that it is a damn good movie is just icing on the cake. I often wonder where I would be if I hadn't read that movie sypnosis, because before, I knew nothing about any type of movie, now I can't seem to watch enough movies (well, for starters, I would have graduated from college by now...). And this movie was directed by the Wachowski brothers and their great camera work and strong storytelling really do shine in this movie.

I believe quality of this picture was overlooked by many critics as one of the best films. The big bonus about this film is the relationship between the women was treated in a natural, accurate way and was not the entire story. The visual originallity and quality of this movie is unique. A hot must see, gay or straight, and the hottest lesbian scenes you'll see in a mainstream movie!

Not only two gorgeous ladies building up in a very erotic way, but also maybe one of the top movies of that year. Filmed in a wonderful film-noir tradition, with a good plot and great actors. The Wachowskies stand for it. Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly never looked hotter!!

I hate this movie, I hate this movie, I hate this movie! I wonder how many times I could type that in this little window -- actually, I could type it all day and feel a real satisfaction in it. That's how much I hate this movie. It is an extended ratings ploy, only for the sexual titillation of those who would watch. It is everything bad that a movie involving lesbians could be. Horrible generalizations of women -- one's a tough tattooed butch convict, the other is an breathy airhead femme who is looking to put another knotch in her belt and be bad.
A straight male friend of mine who thought he was being hip actually played this movie for me (which I think says a lot), and I have tried to watch it once since then and found I couldn't stomach it. It is the dumbest, most ridiculous piece of crap ever to have the "lesbian" label plastered all of over it. In fact, it's a disgrace to all lesbians everywhere, and a total abomination!
