Plot: (from The Chicago Film Festival site)
A favorite at the Cannes Film Festival, Be With Me is director Eric Khoo’s first project since 1997’s 12 Storeys. Inspired by the autobiography of Theresa Chan, a 61-year-old deaf and blind woman from Singapore, Khoo’s visually stunning film looks at loneliness and love through three very different urban relationships. In the first, a lonely shopkeeper’s life changes when he happens upon an autobiography; the second, a security guard with a passion for food deals with unrequited love; finally, a bittersweet tale of teenage love takes unexpected turns.
Lesbian content:
The "bittersweet tale of teenage love" involves two girls (Ezann Lee & Samantha Tan).
