Plot: (from Video Universe)

Set in that center of gossip, drama, and solidarity, the women's' restroom, Baņo De Damas stars acclaimed thespians Lorena Meritano and Viviana Gibelli. Every week at the disco, several diverse women meet in the bathroom to discuss their love lives, careers, sexual experiences, and all of their frustrations. Humorous and sexy, Baņo De Damas is also a social commentary that hits on issues of gender discrimination and the woman's place in postmodern society. It is based on the critically lionized play by Latino writer Rodolfo Santana.

Lesbian content:

This is the first Peruvian movie with lesbian content that I've come across, and what a "premiere movie" it is! The love scene in the begining of the movie between Andrea Montenegro and Lorena Meritano is amazing. It's slightly too dark though, but you seldomly see such sweaty and passionate sex in a mainstream movie. We quickly learn that these two girls' relationship isn't working too well, and when they're at the club, Lorena's character catches the attention of a beautiful singer (Viviana Gibelli) who's performing there. What then follows is a very nice build-up to what I hoped would be a second lesbian love scene, but no, it never happened. There is some caressing and neck kissing though.

Please note that the kiss you can see in the last seven still-images isn't on the DVD. It's been cut out for some reason.

Baņo De Damas broke all box-office records in Peru, and I suspect heavily that the lesbian content had something to do with it.
