Aprimi Il Cuore is a macabre tale about the obsessive love between two incestuous sisters. The film is directed by Giada Colagrande who also stars in the movie. She plays Caterina, the 17-year-old, younger sister of Maria, a prostitute with a ferocious protective streak. Maria keeps Caterina virtually imprisoned in the sisters' small, sterile Rome apartment, only letting her out for dance classes. Caterina watches Maria's clients come and go. At night, she provides the satisfaction Maria is denied in her interaction with men.
The relationship between the two sisters is intense and suffocating. Maria is everything to Caterina - mother, teacher, lover. When Caterina falls for Giovanni, the caretaker at her dance school, trouble starts. Maria is not impressed and what ensues is both horrible and perversely funny.
