French Tennis player Amelie Mauresmo came out during the 1999 Australian Open. She said an interresting thing some months afterwards when she was asked how the other players on the tour had reacted when she came out. Amelie said that most of them had reacted positively and that those who had been more negative about it maybe just were afraid Amelie would reveal something about their own sexual preference. She's currently in a relationship with Sylvie Bourdon. The couple live in St. Tropez.
