Actress Heather Matarazzo, star of Welcome to the Dollhouse and The Princess Diaries, is "madly crazy" in love with her girlfriend who she met last year. "I'm not as angry any more," says the 21-year-old co-star of The Princess Diaries 2, opening tomorrow. "Or maybe I should say I'm angry in a different way. Before, I was just rageful because of hormones, growing up in this business, having a distorted perspective and not knowing who I was. But that's changed in the past year. I met the person I'm so madly crazy in love with. She's not famous yet. She will be. She wants to do musical theater and stage, which is not as demoralizing as the movie business is." Matarazzo, who lives in Manhattan, did not name her or give any details about their relationship. "I've learned to think before I speak," she says. "But I can get so passionate about things." And her life's leading lady is one of those things. But there's no reason to think that talking about her sexuality so frankly will hurt Matarazzo's career, predicts Brian Dannelly, who directed her in the recent movie Saved. "Any time a person can be honest with who they are it's a good thing," he says. "Any repercussions will be short-lived. Heather's lucky because she doesn't fall into the typical Hollywood actress category. She's a true Hollywood individual."
