Sophia Loren was in Spain to shoot a movie when a French female journalist came there to do a series of interviews with her. It's said that the two of them came along VERY good and that the journalist visited Sophia almost every day in the house she was living in while the film was made. They often sat in the house's Sauna just the two of them. After a couple of weeks, Sopia Loren's assistants managed to split them up and the journalist was forced to travel back to France. It isn't 100 % clear why they split them up but maybe the rumors had grown to strong about them? Maybe they also saw that Sophia and the other woman had become a little bit too friendly with each other, that she wasn't just visiting Sophia to interview her. I mean, it can't be a common thing that a journalist spends that much time with the person being interviewed (especially when that person is in the middle of a movie-shoot) and furthermore is invited to sit in the Sauna with her. It's said that Sophia was releaved when the female journalist went back to France. "She meant a lot of trouble for me", Sophia explained to a friend.
