Cream, the lead singer of "Addis Black Widow" currently lives with her girlfriend Quiet Storm in London. She has always been very open about her homosexuality. In an interview for the swedish magazine "Café", she says that her openess has caused her some problems though. When "Addis Black Widow" were about to sign their first record-deal, the record company told Cream that they wanted her to lie about her sexual preference, the reason was that if she didn't, it could scare away conservative buyers. Today six years later, they're on a new record lable but it's still the same thing, says Cream. "They want to censor lyrics describing love between girls." She further says: "The record company has said to me that I would have been a world famous singer today if it hadn't been for the fact that I'm so open about my homosexuality. They want me to act "heterosexual" at important events and not to kiss my girlfriend while I'm there. They get upset even if I'm only holding her hand." Addis Black Widow has performed on many gay-festivals here in Sweden though, according to a lesbian magazine. The problems Cream describe, are in her relation with the group's UK record company "Instant Karma".
